Triathlon Serie:
XTERRA Finland welcomes you to the most northern country of our XTERRA European Tour. The race is hosted by the Saimaa Holiday club in Rauha close to Imatra, South East Finland. Imatra is home to a population of 27000 people and is famous for its amazing landscapes, gorge, wildlife and city centre motor racing.
Exploring the surrounding area, you will find an incredible forest that feels like you have been transported to another world, with wildlife aplenty it’s not a case of if but when you’ll see a moose out in the forest! There are perfect tracks everywhere for mountain biking and trail running where you can spend hours training in the forest.
Athletes will swim in Lake Saimaa, At approximately 4,400 square kilometres, it’s the largest lake in Finland, and the fourth largest freshwater lake in Europe. In winter the lake freezes over, locals have to ice skate, ski or snowmobile in order to go fishing. Cross Country skiing is extremely popular here, with many tracks groomed in winter for training and racing.
