Ironman 70.3 Pescara Italy

Ab 2019 wird der Ironman 70.3 nicht mehr in Pescara ausgetragen, wird vom Ironman 70.3 Emilia Romagna abgelöst.

The bustling city of Pescara provides spectacular views from the seaside directly up to the 3000-meter tall mountains of the Abruzzo. Experienced in hosting large-scale events, such as the 2009 Mediterranean Games, and known for its numerous outdoor tourism activities, Pescara is located two driving hours east of Rome and just four kilometers from Abruzzo International Airport, with regular flights to/from Frankfurt, Barcelona, London, Milan and Paris.

Ironman 70.3 Italy begins with a 1.9 km swim that takes place near the downtown beach area in the calm and temperate water of the Adriatic Sea. Athletes will then embark on a 90 km bike through the foothills of the Abruzzo Mountains that provides a challenging and scenic ride through vineyards and groves of olive trees. The concluding half marathon (21.1 km) along the beach promenade lined with palm trees and through downtown Pescara leads to the finish line in the heart of the city.
