Over 200 triathletes started the first edition of the Let’s Tri Pollença, a tough event with a special distance in one of the most spectacular spots in Mallorca.
The main favorite, German George Potrebitsch, didn’t start the race due to some physical problems. Carlos Lopez and Miguel Angel Fidalgo were the first triathletes out of the water (1,9km) and even they were riding close during the no drafting bike segment (56km), passing through some of the most scenic villages of Mallorca: Pollença, Campanet, Selva, Caimari, Escorca Lluc, Coll de Femenia... Finally the hardest ascent to “El Puig de Maria” on the 10km run segment gave Fidalgo victory as he was the strongest athlete yesterday.
The first women was Lola Fernandez, with a 4 minutes gap ahead of Laura Brunot, first runner up, who was leading the race after the swimming leg. Helena Bellini was third at the finish line.
The final event of the Let’s Tri Series is Let’s Tri Ibiza, a brand new Olympic distance Triathlon in the hearth of one of the most well known island in the World: Ibiza. Let’s Tri Ibiza is on October 26th. This is the perfect and challenging event to finish up this season racing in a natural paradise and the coolest place to performance and to have fun after the event.
