Ironman Melbourne - Asia-Pacific Championship

Ironman Melbourne is likely to be a super-fast course with the bike set for a two-lap ride from Frankston, which is at the start of the Mornington Peninsula, approximately halfway between Melbourne CBD and Phillip Island.

The bike course will be on the Eastlink Tollway which is mostly hot-mix and super fast, more like the surfaces seen in Europe. The Eastlink Tollway opened three years ago and is the single biggest road project in Australia.

The run will wind its way along Port Philip Bay to the final at St Kilda Baths – with the region known as the hub of the sport. It was the venue for the Commonwealth Games triathlon in 2006 and many other top level triathlons.
