Melbourne is reowned as the sporting capital of the world and it is fitting that Challenge Melbourne is the first long course triathlon to be held in the inner city region of Bayside only, 15km from the CBD. The event features a 1 lap swim in Port Phillip Bay , a 3 lap cycle on the picturesque and famous Beach Road ( closed from Brighton to Mordialloc with over 100 side streets), and a 3 lap run overlooking the bay.
